Interesting article from Silicon Republic. I’m not sure I agree fully with the conclusions, as there are many alternatives in Cloud Computing between maintaining the current In-House IT Systems and full Desktop Virtualisation. Most SME businesses will address Cloud Computing/Virtualisation in a phased basis, starting with Email, CRM and Shared Documents, and then looking at things like the Finance Apps before going for full Desktop Virtualisation. Businesses need to be prepared for the post-PC world
Budget 2010 Gives Boost to SME Sector….NOT
Well what a missed opportunity. The only things in the budget for the SME sector is a Credit Refusal Review Scheme (Probably will be staffed by the laid off Anglo WBankers), so that will really get the credit flowing. And to really kick us in the nuts they introduce a Carbon Tax of 4.9c per liter of diesel . No mention of ring fencing this tax to put in place a proper Rural Transport System now that everyone is forced to live 50 miles form their work, if they do have a job and now won’t be able to afford to run a car (a necessity, not a luxury, if you live outside the Pale) if they are unemployed. Not to mention the extra costs it will impose on already hard pressed businesses. This really is the Life of Brian (either one, take your pick); Life’s a piece of shit When you look at it Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke, it’s true. You’ll see it’s all a show Keep ‘em laughing as you go Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
