Just because it’s Social media doesn’t mean that Integrity doesn’t count.

Here is a perfect example of how the misuse of social media can backfire badly. If you are going to use Facebook or any other Social Media to promote your business, then call in some expertise to get you started or at the very least get some training. It could save you a lot of embarrassment and money.

Developing an Online Marketing Plan

I came across this very helpful guide to Developing an Online Marketing Plan from Mulley Communications. Time and again I come across people/organisations who are panicked into getting a Website/Blog or setting up Facebook /Twitter accounts without understanding what they want to achieve or for that matter what is practically achievable. If you are thinking of Developing an Online Marketing plan,  and you really should be, then I strongly recommend you use a professional. We use Cada Media based here in Gorey, Co. Wexford.

Don’t be stuck for words.

Often when I’m talking to customers, particularly in these tough times, they say they would like to start an Email Newsletter, Ezine or even a blog to help promote their business but are terrified of having to write the content and don’t know where to start. They also say that they don’t want their newsletters to appear unprofessional or unfocused like some of the Ezines they see coming into their inboxes. Well you’re not alone. When I need some help in this area I work with people like Deirdre O’Flynn in Spellcheck Editorial Services.  Deirdre can point you in the right direction and turn your raw ideas, or unfocused ramblings in my case, into clear readable content that concentrates on getting your key messages across to your customers. So whether you just need help getting started with your first brochure or need to keep your customers updated with a quarterly business newsletter, a little external input goes a long way.

Promoting your Business – National Newspaper, Google Adwords or Facebook Ad

Had a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine who runs a Holiday and Leisure Park. She told me that she had a fantastic response to an open day she held recently. When I asked her how she had advertised the open day, she told me that she had put an Ad in a National Newspaper, used Google AdWords and finally she set up a Facebook Page for the business and created a Facebook Ad. When people arrived  she asked them where they had heard about the open day and the results were as follows. The vast majority said Facebook, followed by Google Ads and finally in last place by a long shot was the National Newspaper. The interesting thing is that the most expensive was the National Newspaper, the second most expensive was Google Ads and by far the cheapest was Facebook. The next time you’re marketing your business think very carefully how you spend your money. http://www.prospectpark.ie/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gorey-Ireland/Prospect-Holiday-Leisure-Park/132589957710
